CAPTURING A 250-YEAR STORY THROUGH THE LENS OF TIME
Filming for Slatersville began in January 2012, though significant video was captured in 2005 and earlier. Since then we have filmed interviews with 155 people (42 deceased). We have scanned over 15,000 images and uncovered historic materials never-before-seen. These incredible discoveries inspired us to expand this story into a historical docuseries covering the origins of the Rhode Island textile industry. Over the course of 11 episodes, Slatersville will take the audience on an enriching journey from its early days to the fight to preserve its structures in the 21st Century.
Below is a talk given regularly by Filmmaker Christian de Rezendes on the making of Slatersville called Village Shaker, Puzzle Maker. This was the first version of that talk presented in January of 2024. An updated version will soon be available.
