ANNOUNCING

THE

SLATERSVILLE-In-PROGRESS

SCREENING TOUR

The SLATERSVILLE-In-Progress Screening Tour will be a monthly series of events where sequences of this documentary series will be shown at specially selected locations such as historic places, colleges and museums throughout southern New England.  Each location chosen for a screening will have a direct connection to the story.  These events will be open to the public. Filmmaker Christian de Rezendes will be present for Q&A, accompanied by a historian.

Our purpose for this tour will be to engage new audiences by showing our progress on the film's 2021 completion while educating the public on Slatersville's history and the documentary post-production process.

ABOUT THE FILM

Now eight years into its making, Slatersville: America's First Mill Village will be a historical documentary series that has been filmed in seven states and the U.K.  Its focus is on the two-hundred-year history of the first industrialized mill village in the U.S., in the heart of the Blackstone Valley, located in northern Rhode Island. Slatersville is being directed by award-winning filmmaker and Slatersville

native Christian de Rezendes, and will be used to educate

and entertain a wide range of audiences, from local families

in communities throughout southern New England to

students of all ages from around the globe.

Slatersville is currently in post-production

and will premiere in 2021.

A HISTORICAL DOCUMENTARY SERIES

Filming for SLATERSVILLE began in January 2012, though significant video was captured in 2005 and earlier.  Since then we have filmed interviews with over 100 people, 17 of whom have passed away.  In our gathering of images to tell this two-century-long story, we have uncovered historic materials never before seen by the public, and in some cases, never known by historians.  These incredible discoveries lead to our decision to make Slatersville into a historical documentary series.  Over four episodes, SLATERSVILLE will take the audience on an enriching journey from the early days of the Slater Family era to the influence of the Kendall Company's ownership and the saving of the Slatersville Mill 200 years after the founding of the village.

Our goal is to premiere SLATERSVILLE in the Fall of 2021.

Through the years, this production has received financial support from several grant organizations, corporations and generous individuals from around the world.  In order to meet our goal of completion, we continue to rely on this support.  If you or your company may be interested in sponsoring or making a personal donation to SLATERSVILLE, we invite you to contact us below or visit www.gofundme.com/slatersvillefilm.
